Fred Thompson Hits the Nail on the Head, Well Almost
Tennessee is just plain ecstatic about Fred Thompson’s run at the White House, which baffles me. I’ve never understood why is is so easy for a candidate to win his home state (except for Al Gore) no matter what they say or think. However, in today’s New Sentinel, Fred Thompson defends his job as a lobbyist with a pretty rational and telling statement. He is now halfway to the point at which I can support him:
…lobbying is an important part of life because “government’s got their hands in everything.”
Well said Fred. Government does have its hands in everything. It is good to see that you’ve identified the problem.
I have one question though–what do you propose to do about that?

He made decent income from lobbying, why should he want to “fix” it?
