Paul can still run for Congress and President at the same time under Texas law. He's fine...

He should run 3rd party though

[...] If Ron Paul is going to run third party in November should he keep bothering with the race for the Republican nomination? Sadcox thinks that is exactly what he should do: If he wants to run 3rd party, [Ron Paul] needs to stay in GOP race until the convention. That would solidify a “the Republican Party left me” argument, not to mention all the hell he could raise and attention he could get with a brokered convention. [...]

"to build the movement he’s started and keep getting his ideas out there. He can’t believe at this point that he could win, but he could stir the pot enough to get likeminded people elected to Congress in the next cycle."

I couldn't agree more. Paul won't win, nobody ever thought he would. That was never the point. I'm glad he's out there, talking. ~CSPAN rules, BTW.~

I also agree w/ you about this: "I think we’re going to find out post-convention if Ron Paul is about promoting himself or promoting his ideas"

I hope he doesn't disappoint on this. It would be bad for the movement.

State ballot access laws might require action before the convention. Established small parties might have their conventions before then.

However, Paul has said he will stay with it as long as money is pouring in and there is a strong grassroots effort. If that is the case at the time of the convention, then that will mean something.
